Chelsea Handler, comedian, has announced dates for her 2011 tour, which has been dubbed “Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me.” Also performing will be comedians who regularly appear on Handler’s show, “Chelsea Lately,” including Heather McDonald, Brad Wollack, and Josh Wolf. 19 performances have been scheduled including the initial stop in Boston on May 10.
Handler is following up her wildly successful 2010 tour, “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bank’ with the new dates for 2011. The 2010 venture added additional dates and brought in over 250,000 people in 44 venues. The tour saw a profit of in excess of $16 million.
Handler is anticipating the release of her new book, Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me, which is due out on May 10, 2011. This is her fourth book, but the first one published under her brand, Borderline Amazing/A Chelsea Handler Book, which is a subsidiary of Grand Central Publishing.
The book includes tales and anecdotes from her family members and her friends about the extravagant lies Handler has fed to them throughout the duration of their relationships. All of the comedians who are touring with Handler contributed to the book and also write for Handler’s comedy show Chelsea Lately. E! Network reports that Handler’s show is the number one series on the network. Handler will accompany each concert with a book signing event to promote her new publication.
The tour is sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, which is what Chelsea likes to drink. In addition, Belvedere will also present invitation-only receptions following Chelsea’s performances.
